SPECIAL NOTES: This week Dr. Hook’s “The Cover of ‘Rolling
Stone’” moves from #12-#9 on rival WWDJ. (Never played on WABC,
allegedly due to the reference[s] to cocaine in the song.)

Also this week, “Superfly Meets Shaft,” a “break-in” record by
John & Ernest (on the Rainy Wednesday label) debuts on WWDJ at
position #22. The record, produced by legendary break-in master
Dickie Goodman, eventually peaks at #3 on WWDJ, but never receives
any airplay on WABC.
