NOTES: This week’s Top 10 does not have a #1 (for the 9th week in WABC’s Top 40 history) or numbers 3 and 4. The general consensus is that #1 is probably “I Love Rock ‘n Roll” by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, on the Boardwalk label. “Centerfold” by the J. Geils Band, on EMI America, is most likely #3, while #4 is probably “We Got the Beat” by the Go-Go’s (on I.R.S.). These songs were never played on WABC, which had softened its format to a more Adult Contemporary sound by early 1982.

This is a text-only music survey. The song titles and artists shown above are presented exactly as they are shown on the printed survey. Any typos, spelling errors and/or other anomalies are as they appear on the printed sheet. Some formatting may have been done to allow survey to display properly on the blog.
